The Happening 2008

Posted by admin On March - 3 - 2008

The happening 2008

I have mixed feelings about M. Night Shayamalan - I enjoyed 6th sense, Unbreakable and Signs, for me the others were distinctively average. This new film “The Happening” seems to have the right elements to make this film a success.

PLOT:

A couple goes on the run from an apocalyptic crisis that presents a large-scale threat to humanity.

Possible Spoiler

Looking at the trailer and reading through the various movie forums, many people believe the happening is either a flock of killer bees or a man made virus that uses the natural elements to kill everyone. No doubt there will be a twist in the tale and the happening just happened - no imagination I know lol.

X Files 2 July 2008

X Files 2

I was always a big fan of the X files when I was younger, the series was great and the movie not bad too. I did lose interest when Mulder left but in this new features they are back together, wahoo!

Plot: David Duchovny will reprise his role of Special Agent Fox Mulder. Gillian Anderson is also expected to be back on board to play Special Agent Dana Scully. The popular series ran on Fox from 1993 to 2002. Rob Bowman directed the first feature, which hit theaters on June 19, 1998.

Wall-E by Pixar 2008

Posted by admin On January - 31 - 2008

I have always preferred Pixar animated films in comparison to Dreamworks and the new movie in 2008 from them looks stunning! Pixar have always lead the field of CGI with the Toy Stories and Nemo (with great water effects).

Plot:

The year is 2700. WALL*E, a robot, spends every day doing what he was made for. But soon, he will discover what he was meant for.

Watch the trailer and you will see that the animation is more realistic than the normal almost “cartoon” look. Look forward to seeing more of WALL*E in 2008 - will keep you all posted!

Babylon AD 2008

Posted by admin On January - 29 - 2008

Let me start off by saying I have always been a huge Vin Diesel fan, I think he gets a lot of bad press but I really rate him as a very enjoyable actor. So it’s been a while since his last film and some new photos of his new film “Babylon A.D.” were released recently.

Babylon AD

The Plot:

Veteran-turned-mercenary Thoorop (Diesel) takes the high-risk job of escorting a woman from Russia to China. Little does he know that she is host to an organism that a cult wants to harvest in order to produce a genetically modified Messiah.

Sounds like a potentially great movie, will keep you guys updated when I know more

The Fast and the Furious 4 - 2009

Posted by admin On January - 21 - 2008

I for one loved the first 2 Fast and Furious films. Great cars, good looking women and a not so bad story line in both films. I didn’t watch the third mainly because it looked like a straight to DVD film with none of the original cast.

A nice surprise to see Vin Diesel and Paul Walker as a possible return double combo for the fourth installment. Due in 2009 its a long way away, I will of course keep everyone updates as soon as I know more!

Speed Racer Trailer

Posted by admin On January - 13 - 2008

Plot: Based on the classic 1960’s Japanese animated series, The Wachowski Brothers (Matrix) direct the story of a young race car driver as he attempts to obtain glory, with the help of his family and the Mach 5, the advanced car created by his father. Emile Hirsch stars as Speed, Christina Ricci as Trixie, and Mathew Fox as Racer X. Even if you weren’t a fan of the tv series, all indications so far point to this being unlike anything ever seen before on the big screen.

Looks like a good fun watch with some great visual effects, not entirely sure on the storyline though!

Iron Man Trailer - 2008

Posted by admin On January - 11 - 2008

Plot Summary: Based upon Marvel’s iconic Super Hero, “Iron Man” tells the story of Tony Stark, a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor who is kidnapped and forced to build a devastating weapon. Instead, using his intelligence and ingenuity, Tony builds a high-tech suit of armor and escapes captivity. Upon his return to America, Tony must come to terms with his past. When he uncovers a nefarious plot with global implications, he dons his powerful armor and vows to protect the world as Iron Man.

I am a big fan of Robert Downey Jr, always have been but as far as Iron Man goes, I know nothing of the history of the character. The trailer looks ok, certainly a watch on DVD but I think i’ll leave it till then!

Batman: Dark Knight

Posted by admin On January - 2 - 2008

I have always really admired the majority of the batman films (well maybe not Batman and Robin). So when I first saw Batman Begins I was so glad that the franchise was back on track.

Tim Burton really stamped his authority by starting the series but this next offering from Christopher Nolan was also a nice surprise. I think Christian Bale has put his own dark take to the role of Batman which works really well.

Dark Knight

The villain in the Dark Knight is none other than the Joker, played by Heath Ledger - which in all honesty has big shoes to fill after big Jack.

Some of the released stills look amazing and im sure the strong cast will do this film justice - watch this space!

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (update)

Posted by admin On December - 17 - 2007

Since I last wrote about this amazing looking film, a red band trailer has been released and now some new stills have been uploaded on the AVP-R page on IMDB.

This film promises to live up to the fans expectations and the trailers and photos seem to be doing just that!

To remind you what the plot is:

When a Predator scout ship crash lands in a Colorado town. The Aliens on board escape and kill all the Predators except one. The last remaining Predator must now destroy all the Aliens as well as the horfic Pred-Alien that was spawned in the first AVP. Meanwhile the towns people are helplessly caught in the middle of the ultimate face-off between these two mythic creatures. A sequel to the 2004 film AVP directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, “Alien vs Predator: Requiem” continues the Alien-Predator war.
