3 Blockbusters for 2010

3 Big Blockbusters of 2010

So far in 2009 there has been a severe anti-climax of so called blockbusters which has left a sour taste in my mouth. Such films as Terminator Salvation, Transformers 2 and GI Joe have unfortunately had more money than sense thrown at them forgetting that the script and character development is something that should have been invested in.
All is not lost! The year 2010 is just around the corner with a selection of big money blockbusters out that can still deliver the punch you need to justify splashing out for a trip to your local cinema. Take a look at 3 movies with trailers that should be considered in 2010:

Tron Legacy (Tron 2)

For those of you who are unaware on Tron I suggest you buy yourself a copy immediately and get up to speed. For those of you that were not alive when it was released – the film was an 80’s classic hit with a computer games enthusiast being submerged in a computer gaming world and fighting for survival. The film has since become a cult classic but more surprisingly a new film is being released in 2010 which looks very interesting – even Jeff Bridges seems to be on board, anyway, check out the trailer below:

Legion

Now this film is something that I have just stumbled across which looks very exciting. It appears that a group of angels are sent down to earth from above to exterminate the human race and do Gods work. The feel looks very Constantine in a way with the film starring Paul Bettany and Dennis Quaid it’s sure to do well – and quite frankly who doesn’t want to see a mass war between Angels and the armed forces, check out the trailer below:

Avatar

If you haven’t heard of this film in some context then I would be really surprised. It’s the work of Director ace James Cameron (Terminator, Aliens, Titanic) and there is a shroud of mystery as to what the film is about, is it all CGI and why oh why has it taken 12 years to finish! I have every belief that James Cameron will pull something extremely special out of the bag for this possible masterpiece – Judge for yourself:

10 Facts About Madonna

Posted by admin On October - 15 - 2008
  1. Her videos “Justify My Love” and “What It Feels Like For A Girl” were banned from VH1 & MTV. “Erotica” (1992), though not banned, was only played after midnight on MTV.
  2. Unanimously condemned by the Puerto Rican House of Representatives for pulling a Puerto Rican flag between her legs in an October 26, 1993 concert.
  3. Her daughter Lourdes was named as a tribute to Madonna’s mother, who wanted to visit Lourdes, France, where the Virgin Mary, the Madonna, appeared in 1858, but died before doing so.
  4. Was good friends with Gwyneth Paltrow before she declined her invitation to join her Kabbalah study group in London. A similar thing happened to her friendship with Debi Mazar, who didn’t like Madonna‘s participation in the Kabbalah.
  5. Her birthday is also the anniversary of Elvis Presley‘s death.
  6. A September 2000 Rolling Stone article estimated her worth as $650 million. Since then, she has released the album “Music”, which sold 12 million copies, has had a 47-date sold-out worldwide tour, completed a movie, and released a greatest hits compilation.
  7. Her wedding dress for her 2000 wedding to director Guy Ritchie was designed by her friend Stella McCartney.
  8. Nude pictures of her taken years earlier, when she was a starving dancer, ran in Penthouse magazine. Due to the success of that issue, she posed nude again in the coffee table book “Sex” which became an instant best seller.
  9. Is a distant cousin of Gwen Stefani. Gwen’s great-aunt’s mother-in-law shares the same last name with Madonna.
  10. Her 1989 album “Like A Prayer” ranked #100 on VH1′s 100 Greatest Albums.

Heath Ledger RIP

Heath Ledger

Have just seen the headlines on the BBC website, an extract:

“He was found unconscious at the apartment and pronounced dead,” the New York Police Department said, adding that pills were found near the body.

Police are reportedly investigating if the Australian actor, who earned an Oscar nomination for Brokeback Mountain, died of a drug overdose.

The 28-year-old was found dead in the flat at around 1530 (2030 GMT).

Police said they did not suspect foul play and that his body had been discovered surrounded by pills.”

I always enjoyed the majority of his films and many people said that his performance in the new Batman film “Dark Knight” was his best to date. My thoughts go out to his family.

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (update)

Posted by admin On December - 17 - 2007

Since I last wrote about this amazing looking film, a red band trailer has been released and now some new stills have been uploaded on the AVP-R page on IMDB.

This film promises to live up to the fans expectations and the trailers and photos seem to be doing just that!

To remind you what the plot is:

When a Predator scout ship crash lands in a Colorado town. The Aliens on board escape and kill all the Predators except one. The last remaining Predator must now destroy all the Aliens as well as the horfic Pred-Alien that was spawned in the first AVP. Meanwhile the towns people are helplessly caught in the middle of the ultimate face-off between these two mythic creatures. A sequel to the 2004 film AVP directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, “Alien vs Predator: Requiem” continues the Alien-Predator war.
